This Cookie Policy explains how Octapost uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser localStorage) when you use our application. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Strictly necessary cookies are always active because the app cannot function without them. Analytics cookies are off by default and only set if you give consent via our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time:

3. Strictly necessary

These are required to sign you in, keep your session secure, and remember basic preferences. They do not require consent and cannot be switched off.

  • Supabase session cookies (e.g. sb-*-auth-token) — authentication and session management, set by our auth provider Supabase.
  • pending_account_invite — temporarily stores an invitation while you complete sign-up (expires after 1 hour).
  • octapost_theme (browser localStorage) — remembers your light/dark theme preference.
  • octapost_cookie_consent (browser localStorage) — stores this very cookie choice so we don’t ask again.

4. Analytics (consent required)

These help us understand how the app is used so we can improve performance and reliability. They are only loaded after you choose “Accept all”.

  • Vercel Analytics — privacy-friendly, aggregated usage metrics (page views, referrers). See Vercel’s privacy policy.
  • Vercel Speed Insights — anonymous performance measurements (load times, web vitals) to help us keep the app fast.

5. Payment (Stripe)

When you start a checkout, we load Stripe.js to process the payment securely and help prevent fraud. Stripe may set its own cookies at that point. These are tied to a payment you have initiated and are necessary to provide that service. See Stripe’s privacy policy.

6. Managing cookies in your browser

Besides our banner, you can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the app from working (for example, staying signed in).

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above.
